APIA Conference 2022

The Missionaries of the Sacred Heart from Asia, Australia, PNG and the Pacific Islands, known as the APIA, gathered together to share, reflect and discuss important aspects of the society in the region. Fiji is hosting this year's APIA Conference from 28th November to 8th December 2022, at the Pacific Regional Seminary in Suva.
There are 22 participants: 8 Superiors, 14 formators, 1 facilitator, 2 Resource persons, and 1 Secretary. Fr Tamati Sefo, Fr Poneventura Luatunuu, Br Colin Sinclair and Br Tebweao Antonio represent the Province of the Pacific Islands.
The first week of the conference is mainly on Formation and the second week is the Superior's meeting with the representation by Fr Martin Everi (JPIC) and Fr Tim Brennan (Safeguarding).
The conference was opened with the Eucharist led by Fr Humberto Henriques a facilitator from the General House in Rome, followed by a meal, a Fijian welcome Kava ceremony (Sevusevu) and entertainment by the Seminarians from the islands of Kiribati. It ends with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the MSC Foundation day and the First Profession of 5 Novices.
